VICTORY in 2006 Under 14 Anglo Scottish League

Lothian’s Under 14 team emerged victorious in the U-14 Anglo Scottish Badminton Tournament, held at Gateshead Leisure Centre on the 18th & 19th Feb. The Lothian team won back the trophy, which has evaded them since 2002, with 3 hard fought victories in their final pool matches against Lanark, Ayrshire and finally Yorkshire. Lothian won each of these matches by 6 games to 4, winning some very close matches in the process, most notably a 21-20 win by Mathew Carder against Robert Lynch of Ayrshire and another 21-20 win by Alex Wilson against Natalie Jones of Yorkshire.

The Lothian team was Michael Campbell, Mathew Carder, Angus Simpson, Michael Fullerton, Rajan Bhopal, Alex Wilson, Seona Stalker, Lucy Merriman, Alex Dickenson and Megan Richardson.
